Job Summary: The Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our agro ethical products business. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage administrative tasks, assist with production when needed, and contribute to the execution of our business plan. Ideal candidates are smart, thoughtful, and enthusiastic about working in a startup setting, with excellent presentation skills and a welcoming demeanor for client interactions. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in implementing and monitoring the business plan, including tracking progress, updating timelines, and reporting on key milestones. • Handle administrative duties such as managing documentation, processing orders, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with relevant certifications (e.g., organic, fair trade, and ethical sourcing standards). • Provide hands-on support on the production site as required, including tasks related to harvesting, packaging, quality control, and inventory management. • Welcome and engage clients, suppliers, and visitors with professionalism, providing information on products and facilitating smooth interactions. • Contribute to team brainstorming sessions with thoughtful insights and smart solutions to operational challenges. • Support marketing and sales efforts by representing the company with good manners and a polished presentation during meetings, events, or site visits. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the startup’s growth and adaptability. Qualifications and Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred but not required). • Ideally but not mandatory, 1-2 years of experience in administration, production, or trade within the agro sector; startup experience is a plus. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow and contribute to a business plan. • Possible Familiarity with administrative processes, including certifications and compliance in ethical agro products. • Willingness to work hands-on in production environments when necessary, with a flexible and adaptable mindset. • Genuine interest in startups, sustainability, and ethical agro practices. • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a welcoming attitude toward clients and stakeholders. • Professional presentation, good manners, and the ability to communicate effectively in English (knowledge of local languages like Luganda is an advantage as well as other foreign languages ). • Smart and thoughtful problem-solver, capable of independent thinking and quick learning in a dynamic setting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools; basic knowledge of inventory or CRM software is beneficial.
